Lloyd A. Elliott

Lloyd A. Elliott of Roswell, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026. Lloyd was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, proud great-grandfather, and loyal friend. He will be remembered for his kindness, patience, sense of humor, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family. Born in Northern Kentucky, Lloyd grew up in the Kenton and Boone County area. He attended Simon Kenton High School, where he first met the love of his life, Rita Faulkner. Raised in a rural community, Lloyd was proud to attend and graduate from the University of Kentucky. Throughout his life, he remained a devoted Wildcats fan and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his beloved UK teams. While attending the University of Kentucky, Lloyd joined the Army ROTC program and later proudly served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army, including a tour of duty in Japan. Following his honorable military service, Lloyd joined his parents and brothers in Clearwater, Florida, where his family had relocated. He began a successful career with Phillips Petroleum, where he would remain for more than 25 years. It was during this time that Lloyd began a full-time courtship of Rita Faulkner, the woman who would become the love of his life. They were later married in Clearwater, beginning a marriage marked by devotion, partnership, and a shared commitment to family. In 1964, after accepting a transfer with Phillips Petroleum, Lloyd and Rita moved to Decatur, Georgia, where they would make their home for the next 35 years. There they raised their two sons, Kim and Kevin, and built a life centered around faith, family, friendships, and community. The Elliott family became deeply connected to their church, schools, neighbors, and friends, creating relationships and memories that would last a lifetime. Lloyd and Rita cherished their years in Decatur and the many friendships formed there. Decatur remained their home until Rita's passing. Lloyd concluded his professional career as a Controller with Stanley-Bostitch, where he served for 15 years. His strong work ethic, financial expertise, and integrity earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike. After Rita's passing in 2001, Lloyd relocated to Roswell, Georgia, to be closer to family. He embraced this chapter of life wholeheartedly, finding great joy in new friendships, family gatherings, birthdays, holidays, genealogy, extensive travel throughout the world and the opportunity to spend meaningful time with his children and grandchildren. He was excited recently to learn he had become a great-grandfather. In the Orchards and Chambrel communities, Lloyd generously shared both his accounting expertise and his passion for gardening, serving on committees and contributing wherever he was needed. Known for his sharp mind and quick wit, Lloyd never met a crossword puzzle he couldn't solve and was famous for completing them entirely in ink. Friends and family admired his intelligence, humility, patience, quiet nature, and strong presence. Whether offering advice, sharing a laugh, enjoying one of his favorite snacks, or quietly serving others, Lloyd made those around him feel valued and cared for. Though Lloyd accomplished much throughout his life, he would have said that his greatest blessing was his almost 50 year marriage to Rita and the family they built together. Above all, he treasured time spent with those he loved. Lloyd's life was marked by service, faith, hard work, loyalty, and love. The values he lived by and the example he set will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will be cherished always by family and friends who find comfort in a life well lived and in the countless memories he leaves behind. A memorial service will be held on Thursday June 25th at Northside Chapel Funeral Home in Roswell, Georgia, at 11:00 AM, with visitation prior to the service at 10AM. Interment will take place following the service at Arlington Memorial Park. Lloyd was preceded in death by his loving wife Rita Elliott (deceased). He is survived by his sons, Kim Elliott (Nancy) and Kevin Elliott (Debra); his grandchildren, Chris Elliott, Allison Elliott, Lindsey Elliott Hutchings, Leighann Elliott, Lauren Elliott, and Luke Elliott; and his great-grandchildren, Elliott Rose Hutchings and Wyatt Theodore Elliott
