Manuel M. Morales

Born in Mexico in 1915, and moved to the US with his family in May, 1973. Lived in Hanover Park, IL (1973-1979); Wichita Falls, TX (1980-2013); Roswell, GA (November, 2013-March, 2014). Manuel is survived by his wife of almost 70 years (March, 24) Concepción Pizaña-Morales. 3 daughters – Ines (husband, Felipe-deceased), Maria (husband-Salvador); Miriam (husband, Tony). 5 Sons – Armando (wife, Idalia); Arturo (wife, Carmel); Ciro Manuel; Jesus (wife, Esperanza); Hector (wife, Estela); And will be reunited with his son Roberto, who went to be with the Lord at age 17. Also 19 Grandchildren; 28 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild. Manuel was born in Hualahuises, NL, Mexico Manuel was mainly known for his great character, physical strength, discipline, energy, hard work, perseverance, friendliness and most of all – His love for his family. He was a farmer until he came to the US. He worked as custodian at Alexian Brothers Hospital, Elk Grove Village, IL (1973 – 1980). Custodian at Hirschi & Rider High Schools, Whichita Falls, TX (1981 -1985). Retired at 70, but continued to do landscaping side work and manage a baseball team in Wichita Falls (Los Indios), until 2009 (at age 94). Baseball was his biggest passion and his advice to any baseball player, to avoid hitting pop flies or grounders – KEEP THE BAT STRAIGHT!! His secret to living a long life – to wake up early, exercise, take a good nap and eat what you enjoy. His television was always tuned to baseball and during off season he watched the Latin American Baseball Winter League. He was a HUGE Chicago Cubs fan, but also liked and admired the Texas Rangers and Atlanta Braves. When not watching baseball, his favorite show (rerun-after-rerun), Walker – Texas Ranger. He loved gardening and red rose bushes were definitely his favorite thing. One of his biggest satisfactions was mowing his lawn and then, sitting down to admire it with a bottle of Miller Light in his hand. Manuel definitely left many memories and a great example for his grandchildren and great grandchildren to pass on; he will be missed greatly and will never be forgotten!!
