Matthew Isaac Herrin

Matthew Isaac Herrin, a child of God, was called home by his Heavenly Father. Matthew entered the kingdom of heaven on the morning of March 1, 2016. He was at home and in the arms of his parents and brothers when he drew his last breath. Matthew Isaac was born in Atlanta, Georgia on February 15, 2016. While Matthew was only with his family for fifteen days, he was a gift from God and he taught his family to enjoy every moment you have on earth. Matthew was not expected to leave the hospital, but through the prayers of so many people, God graced his family with a miracle to bring little Matthew Isaac home. Matthew was a fighter and so strong, but the strain on his heart and lungs was too much for his little body to bear. Matthew and his story taught so many to love life and trust in God’s plan. God’s plan for Matthew was perfect and he touched many people his family never even knew. Matthew’s journey has been chronicled on CaringBridge at www.caringbridge.org/visit/theherrinfamily. Matthew Isaac is survived by his mother and father, Erika and Brent Herrin of Woodstock, his brothers Mercer and Andrew, his grandparents Michele and Lou Loquasto of Greensboro, Georgia and Carrol and Virgil Herrin of Chatsworth, Georgia, his aunts and uncles Courtney and Lou Loquasto of Roswell, Georgia and Laura and Kevin Herrin of Cumming, Georgia, his cousins Grace Herrin, Carter Herrin, Ally Loquasto, Faith Herrin, Brayden Loquasto, and Cael Loquasto, and numerous great aunts and uncles. A funeral Mass celebrating the life of Matthew Isaac will be held at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church, 11330 Woodstock Road, Roswell, Georgia 30075 on Wednesday March 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with Monsignor Peter Rau as the principal celebrant. A reception will immediately follow in McNamee Hall at the Church. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow after the reception at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, Georgia. To honor and remember Matthew Isaac, the Herrin family has established an endowment fund at the Catholic Foundation of North Georgia for the benefit of Queen of Angels Catholic School named the Matthew Isaac Herrin Memorial Endowment Fund. The purpose of the endowment fund is to provide scholarships for students in financial need. In lieu of flowers, the Herrin family requests you make a donation to the fund.
