Rebecca Jo Anne Cardwell

Rebecca (Becky) Jo Anne Cardwell, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 24, 2022. Becky was born September 20, 1960, to Dan and Ruth McMahon in Rantoul, IL. She grew up in Buffalo, NY before moving to Tulsa, OK during her high school years. She went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University, where she proudly joined Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and gained lifelong friendships. Ultimately, the Lord led Becky to Atlanta, GA, where she met Eric, her husband of 34 years, while they were both working for AT&T Corporate. They have been long-time residents of Roswell, GA and faithful members of Fellowship Bible Church. Eric and Becky were blessed with two wonderful children, Chelsea and Daniel. After having kids, Becky discovered her passion in school administration and was led to serve at Fellowship Christian School. For the past 16 years, Becky worked wholeheartedly at Wesleyan School, or as she would call it, her “happy place.” She talked daily about the delight she found in her roles as Executive Assistant to the Head of School and Assistant to the Board of Trustees. She was known for her warmth, kindness, thoughtfulness, and embodying the school’s J.O.Y. motto - Jesus, Others, Yourself. She always recognized when “it’s a great day for baseball,” reminded others to “make a memory,” and prayed that God will help “turn the question marks into exclamation points.” Becky was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth; grandmother, Helen; aunt, Pat; and cousin, Connie. Surviving to honor and cherish Becky’s memory are her husband, Eric; daughter, Chelsea; son, Daniel; daughter-in-law, Cayla; father, Dan; step-mother, Rosemary; brother, Nathan; nieces, Lauren, Megan, and Ella; and numerous family members and friends. A celebration of Becky’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Northside Chapel (12050 Crabapple Road Roswell, GA 30075). Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00, funeral service at 3:00, and reception to follow (location TBD).
