Mrs. Frances Fagan Brown

Frances F. Brown, 93, died May 9, 2016 with her family at her side near Alpharetta, Georgia where she resided for 45 years. She was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on August 31, 1922 to Thomas and Harriet Fagan. She belonged to Sacred Heart Parish in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School before completing business school and moving to Washington, DC to work for the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC). While working in Washington, Frances met and married Kenneth H Brown in 1950, starting a family of seven children. Frances successfully owned and ran two businesses; one in Chelmsford, MA and the other in Atlanta GA. Frances and her husband moved to the Atlanta area in 1974 to run their second business. Both Frances and her husband attended St. Thomas Aquinas Church since arriving to Georgia and she remained in the parish while devoting her time and attention to caring for her husband during his last 10 years with dementia, ending with his death in 2001. Afterward, years of decline in Frances' health isolated her from friends and resources and she was lovingly cared for by her daughter Patti Dotseth until her death May 9. She is survived by her brothers, Thomas Fagan and James Fagan; her sister Claire Devine and their families. She is also survived by her children, including five daughters and two sons who include Phyllis Patch (children: Rachael Bauman and Lauren Paller); Frances Singleton; Patricia Dotseth (spouse: Stephen Dotseth, child: Christy Dotseth); Leona Perry (spouse: James Perry, child: Alex Perry); Kenneth Brown, Jr, (spouse: Julie Brown, child: Kenneth Brown III); Mary Jean Cobb (spouse: Neal Cobb); and David Brown (spouse: Sherry Brown, child: Matthew Brown). She is also survived by six great-grandchildren. Both Visitation and Funeral Mass will be held at the same location on Friday, May 13, 2016 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 535 Rucker Road, Alpharetta, Georgia 30004. Visitation will be scheduled from 9:45 AM - 10:30 AM with Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 AM in the Chapel. All those who wish may attend the placement of Frances Brown's remains after the Funeral Mass in the Green Lawn Cemetery at 10993 Highway 9, Roswell, GA 30076.
