Mrs. Jacqueline Eldridge

January 25, 1935 - March 31, 2020

Jacqueline “Jackie” Eldridge, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died at her Roswell, Georgia home of 30 years on March 31, 2020 at the age of 85. Jackie was born on January 25, 1935 in New York City to the late Jeanne and Jose Romero. She graduated from Dominican Commercial High School in Jamaica, Queens, and went on to attend the Katherine Gibbs School in New York City. Upon her graduation, she went to work in New York City as a secretary for US Lines, States Marine and Ansor corporations. Jackie married her life-long sweetheart, Irving, on August 25, 1957 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Elmhurst, New York. Together, they raised three beautiful daughters, Christine, Deborah and Jennifer. Jackie was adored by all who knew her. She was adventurous, the life of every party, an outstanding cook, a green thumb, a golfer, a lover of reading and animals, and an avid bridge player. She was active in the Girl Scouts of America as a troop leader, Newcomers organizations in Springfield, Ohio and Roswell, Georgia, a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Roswell, Georgia, and a member of Indian Hills Country Club in Marietta, Georgia. She will be remembered lovingly for her ABBA dance parties, her endless creativity, her great sense of humor and ability to tell the most colorful stories, her “secret” York peppermint patty candy dish and Milano cookie stash, and her fierce love of family. Jackie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Irv, three daughters, Christine (Steven) Mazer, Deborah Hurn, Jennifer (Keith) Carlton, seven grandchildren, Alexandra (Joseph) Young, Caitlin Pietrangelo, Andrew, Stephanie and Rachel Hurn, Hannah (Logan) Nelson, Oliver Carlton, and three great-granddaughters, Danielle and Annabelle Pietrangelo and Audrey Young. Service arrangements for a funeral mass at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 675 Riverside Rd., Roswell, GA 30075, will be announced at a later date. A private burial will be held at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Georgia https://www.alz.org/ and Crossroads Hospice https://crhcf.org/donate/.
