Kathryn Jolissaint Hollier September 19, 1945 – December 16, 2020 It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Kathryn (Kathy) Jolissaint Hollier, loving wife and mother of two children, on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Kathy was born in Monroe, LA on September 19, 1945 to Richard Charles Jolissaint and Wilma Bernice Ragland. She grew up in West Monroe, LA and graduated from St. Matthews High School in 1963. She attended the University of Louisiana Monroe, where she met her future husband, Preston. She earned a bachelor of science degree in 1968. On August 21, 1968, Kathy married Joseph Preston Hollier. Together they raised a son and daughter, Brandon and Andrea. Kathy and Preston lived all over the U.S. while Preston was in the Army: Perryville, MD; Albuquerque, NM; Huntsville, AL; Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. Kathy and Preston welcomed their son, Brandon, and daughter, Andrea, while living in Wharton, NJ. In 1978, they moved to Marietta, GA, then New Milford, CT in 1988 and finally Roswell, GA in 1990. Kathy delighted in many hobbies including crafting, sewing, cooking, decorating and hosting and planning events and parties. She enjoyed over 26 years as a real estate agent in the Atlanta area, and especially loved helping family and friends find or sell homes. Kathy’s true passion was having fun with family and friends, and she always looked forward to the next dinner, event or festivity. She was a dedicated wife and mother who put God and family first. She was always generously hospitable and welcoming with abundant love, cherishing her role as secondary mother and confidant to many. Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Richard, her mother, Wilma, and her sister, Joycelyn Stanfill. She is survived by her husband of over 52 years, Joseph Preston Hollier, her son, Brandon Lee Hollier of Woodstock, her daughter, Andrea Marie Jernigan (Rich) of Sandy Springs, her three grandchildren Savannah Grace Hollier (15), Grant Preston Hollier (13) and Hunter Brooks Hollier (11). Also surviving are her brother Ralph Jolissaint of Thousand Oaks, CA, sisters Gertrude Cramer (Charles) of Baton Rouge, LA, Sandra Patterson (Dave) of Woodstock, and Charlotte Jolissaint of Winter Springs, FL, several cousins and many nieces and nephews.
