Mrs. Nodya S. Havice Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Nodya Ruth Stephens Havice passed peacefully into God’s presence on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Born to Edmund “Steve” Stephens and Betty Hall Stephens in Marianna, FL on Feb 1, 1947, she had a fairly normal life, with two brothers, Dan and Joe, who grew up with her in Chipley , Fl. She attended Chipley public schools, Chipola Jr. College and the University of Florida, graduating with a bachelors degree in Social Work! It was during this time that she developed her great passion for life, to “have an impact on the people that she would meet along the way.” She met and married her husband David Havice in 1972 and they faithfully loved one another for 49 years; living, loving, and serving God as missionaries and pastors, but most of all, holding on to the deep and abiding friendship they shared from the very beginning of their marriage. That friendship was the basis for a great life of working together. Nodya was an avid reader, gardener, scrapbooker, and even occasional photographer, when she could be talked into pressing the button and finally getting the shot while it was still available! Her greatest delight however, was her family and friends and she learned early on that just spending time with people was the greatest way to influence and make a difference in their lives — a practice that she enjoyed, right up to the end! She was preceded in death by her parents Edmund and Betty Stephens, in-laws Don and Judy Havice, brother Dan Stephens , and grandson Owen Luke Beccue. She is survived by her husband David, two lovely and amazing daughters Rebekah Havice (Stan McKee), Judith Brock-Traynor (Brian), brother Joe Stephens (LeeAnn), and Brother-in-law Michael Havice (Terri) . She was an adored grandmother (Nana) to Curt Beccue, Mitch Beccue, Ella Beccue, Jenna Brock, Jonah Brock, Joel Brock, Joseph Brock, David Traynor, Matthew Traynor, and Noah Traynor. Aunt to Matthew Havice (Laurie), Sarah Havice (Matt) BJ Stephens (Robyn). Trish Sealy (Eric) great aunt to Henry Havice, Helen Havice, Mason Rochester, Zeke Rochester, Clair Sealy, Chloe Sealy, Luke Stephens, and Lexie Stephens! A Celebration of Life Service will be held: Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors and Crematory 12050 Crabapple Road Roswell , Georgia Visitation. At. 1:00 pm
