Mr. Richard "Dick" Shelby Janes

February 1, 1930 - February 8, 2022

Dick died peacefully in his sleep February 8th, 2022 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born February 1st, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a graduate of Cornell University, an Army Veteran of the Korean War, and his career spanned many decades as a Stockbroker. His hobbies included golf, tennis, square dancing and his dogs. He was a longtime resident of Alpharetta and a member of Roswell Presbyterian Church. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Janna Torrance Janes, three daughters, Sally Erbe (Richard), Lisa Smith (Duncan) and Susan Janes. He is also survived by his three step-children, Ralph "Doc" Torrance, Connie Gilbert (David), James "Jim" Torrance, ten Grandchildren and one Great Granddaughter. A "Celebration of Life" will be held Saturday April 2, 2022 at 2:00pm at Roswell Presbyterian Church.
