Mr. Richard A. Hudock Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Rich was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on Oct. 31, 1952. The son of Tom and Adelaide Hudock, he was one of five children. The family moved to Denver before relocating to the Chicago area. Rich learned the value of hard work by working on a friend’s family farm for “$5 a day and a big lunch.” Following graduation from Mundelein High School in Mundelein, Ill., he enrolled at Marquette University. On Feb. 19, 1977, Rich married Gretchen Kluth at Atonement Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. They have two children, John, and Elizabeth. The first home they purchased in Milwaukee began Rich’s long history of remodeling houses, putting him on course to perfect his handyman skills. He could fix anything, with no project too daunting. Rich was a talented woodworker, an avid golfer, and a robust church volunteer who used his varied skills gained through a career in employee benefits. Rich was a servant to many during his lifetime and God felt it was his time to rest. He loved the Lord and his family. God welcomed him Home with the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Rich died believing in the promise his Savior made to him in John 11:25-26 “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he dies, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” This is a great source of comfort for his friends and family. He is survived by his wife Gretchen of Big Canoe; son John and wife Laura; daughter Beth and husband Rev. Noah Herrmann; grandchildren Jacob and Lucas Hudock and Asher and Hannah Herrmann; brother Tom Hudock, Jr.; sisters Suzan McCormick and Pat Hartnett; sisters-in-law Kay Coons, Korinne Kramer, and Kristen Funk; brothers-in-law Will Hartnett, Len Funk, David Coons, and Neil Nicolay; and numerous nieces and nephews, friends, and business associates. He was preceded in death by sister Joan Nicolay and brothers-in-law Allan Kramer and Mike McCormick. The funeral service for Rich is at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at Messiah Johns Creek, 4765 Kimball Bridge Rd, Johns Creek, Ga.
