Ms. Rita Ann Mark Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Rita Ann Mark (Fricioni) passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on the morning of June 10, 2022, in Alpharetta, Georgia. She was 73 years old, born in 1948 in Pittsburgh, PA to Rudolph and Mary Fricioni. She was the oldest of 5 siblings. Rita spent most of her adult years in the Largo/St. Pete, FL area before moving to Alpharetta, GA with her daughter’s family. Rita had two children, her son who preceded her in death Kevin Mark (Joanie) and survived by her daughter, Tracy Doucet (Ken); and grandchildren, Jordan Menihan and Ava Mark; and Gabrielle and Matthew Doucet. Rita’s grandchildren brought her great joy and laughter over the years. Rita was also survived by her 4 younger siblings, David Fricioni, Marilyn Schwartz (Mike), Karen Fricioni and Daniel Fricioni. Rita grew up in Cheswick, PA and later attended college at West Liberty University in West Virginia earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Edinboro University in Northwest Pennsylvania. Rita loved to learn and loved to teach. She spent many years teaching kindergarten and pre-k children and later was a daycare licensing specialist for the state of Florida. Being an avid learner, Rita returned to school once again earning an Associate Degree in Computer Science which she utilized to pivot her career from education into computer database work. After retiring and the passing of her son Kevin, Rita moved to Alpharetta, GA where she lived with her daughter, son-in-law and their two grandchildren. She was strong in her Catholic faith and enjoyed going to Saturday Vigil Mass as a family each week even throughout the pandemic when they enjoyed parking lot Mass in the car together. She loved spending time with her grandchildren even if it was simply riding with them for carpool pickup or going to their after-school activities. She also enjoyed watching golf on tv, going out for dinner or ice cream, and traveling with her family. She had a special place in her heart for her sweet grandpup Chloe who kept her company every day, and she could spoil with many treats. A Funeral Mass for Rita will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2022, at St. Brigid Catholic Church with reception immediately following at 3400 Old Alabama Rd., Johns Creek, GA 30022. An interment will take place at a later date at Mt. Airy Cemetery in Natrona Heights, PA.
