Mrs. Laura Morganti

Ana Laura Claudia Ranieri Morganti Weiner passed away of a sudden illness on May 29, 2015. Laura is survived by her beloved husband, Neville Weiner, her devoted children Alessandra Morganti Bedient (Michael) of New Hampshire and Fabio Morganti (Laura Tholen) of Raleigh, North Carolina, and her adored grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Marc and Abby Bedient who will forever cherish memories of their “Nonna” and all the special times they had together. Laura is also survived by Neville’s loving children Larry Weiner (Joanne), Nicola Weiner (Scott Cantor) and Gabrielle Weiner (Adam Karpati) and Neville’s grandchildren, Jake, Emma, Isabel, Nathaniel and Colin. Laura also leaves her brother, Roberto Ranieri (Gladis) of Buenos Aires, her sister Annamaria Ranieri Stewart of Miami, her dear friend Cristina Blanchelande, and nieces and nephews. Laura was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on August 22, 1948 to Amilcare Ranieri and Maria Luisa Dalla ca di dio. After losing her mother early in life, Laura was raised by her father and her grandmother, Ernestina Casalini Dalla ca di dio, in Argentina and, later, in São Paulo, Brazil. Laura cherished her youth on her father’s farm in rural Argentina, where she developed her lifelong love of animals. In São Paulo, Laura met and married fellow Italian Mario Morganti and they moved to Cortina, Italy to raise their family. Following Mario’s death in 1983, Laura moved to Stamford, CT to raise their children Alessandra (“Sacha”) and Fabio (“Fafo”). For many years, Laura worked for the Swiss Company Omya, a global producer of industrial materials including calcium carbonate. Utilizing her fluency in several languages, Omya Laura traveled extensively with Omya once her children were grown. Laura and Neville had a wonderful life together in Roswell, Georgia over nearly 20 years. They enjoyed traveling to Neville’s native South Africa, visiting friends and family throughout Europe and, most especially, visiting each other’s children and grandchildren. An avid reader, an accomplished cook, a wine lover, and an ardent fan of the English football team Arsenal, Laura will be remembered by her many friends and neighbors with whom she enjoyed spending time. Her sophistication, strength, grace and poise will be remembered by all who had the fortune of knowing her.
