Mr. Mark Chappelear

Mark Leslie Chappelear passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, July 30th 2016 at the age of 56 in his Roswell, GA home. He enters eternal rest after a courageous and well fought battle with spinal melanoma. Mark was born on May 21st 1960 in Fremont, Nebraska. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1978, worked for several years in the area and later moved to Dixon, WY to work with his father and eldest brother, Doug. Never letting grass grow under his feet, Mark returned to Nebraska during the fall of 1982. In December, 1983 Mark joined the United States Air Force. After basic training in San Antonio, TX he went on to specialist training at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, M.S. becoming an electronic computer and switching systems specialist. The rest of Mark’s military career was spent at Offutt Air Force base in Bellevue, NE. Mark earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Illinois. Equipped with a new arsenal of skills, education, amazing work ethic and unique computer skills he headed to the East Coast. Mark met his wife of 21 years, Sharon, while living and working in Nashua, N.H. They moved to the Roswell/Alpharetta, GA. area in 1994 where they both continued to work in the technology field. The Chappelears have called this area home ever since. They have raised a daughter, Jordan Marie Leslie Chappelear, and become an active and beloved part of the community. Mark was an amazing person with a fantastic sense of humor. Wherever Mark went the party followed. His love for his family had no end nor did his passion from life. Whether you knew him for a minute or a decade he was an unforgettable individual. Mark is survived by his wife, Sharon Marie Chappelear of Roswell, GA, a daughter, Jordan Marie Leslie Chappelear of Roswell, GA, two sons, Mitchell Mark (wife Christy), and Tyler Henry (long-time girlfriend, Kristin), of Blair, NE, four grandchildren Lavyn, Olivia, Roman and Maddux Chappelear and parents, Duane Henry & Nila Ann (nee French) Chappelear of Arlington, NE, two brothers, Douglas (wife Ellie) of St. Augustine, FL & Tom (wife Trinity) of Omaha, NE, as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors in Roswell, GA. on August 2, 2016 between the hours of 4:00pm and 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church on August 3, 2016 at 10:30am.
