Mark Steven Feit

Mark Steven Feit, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, baby brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on June 9, 1947, in his treasured Brooklyn to Gertrude & Louis Feit, Mark was a proud New Yorker through and through. He never passed up the opportunity to talk baseball, bargains, bagels, or Brooklyn. He attended high school in Jersey and university in New Hampshire, where he played collegiate basketball. He moved to Georgia in 1996 and assimilated as best he could with his Northerner accent. Mark’s remarkable 40-year career in the food service industry included everything from designing commercial kitchens, purchasing & sales, to reviving failed restaurants, and managing major food warehouses & logistics. The man ‘managed’ every restaurant he ever entered and was always happy to dole out unsolicited feedback. He never met a stranger and collected friends as family. His love of bringing people together through food was matched only by his love of baseball, basketball, and collecting Christmas ornaments/décor. He was the unique individual who could love both the NY Mets & the NY Yankees simultaneously (but NEVER the Boston Red Sox) and recite the game score, player statistic, or team composition from any decade. Mark is survived by his devoted wife, Donna, his son, Jonathan (Roxanne), grandson Luke, sister Tippi, nieces Barbara, Gail, and Pamela, nephew Gary, and stepdaughters Jillian (Ben) and Meredith (Blair). He is also remembered with love by his stepchildren from a previous marriage, David (Sarah) and Shelley (Ken) who were an important part of his life. He leaves behind a baseball team of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren whom he loved deeply & unconditionally: Alison, Autumn, Ava, Conner, Kevin, Mason, Mason, McCabe, Ransom, Ryan, Stephen, Sutton, Tyler, Vaughn, Wesley, and the newest additions, Abi & Brighton. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Phyllis, niece Francine, and his previous spouse, Margaret. His family and friends will forever remember him for his warmth, generosity, and unshakable spirit. A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at Alpharetta Presbyterian Church on Friday, August 23rd at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the church or another charity of your choosing in Mark’s memory. Mark will be deeply missed but his legacy of kindness and his love for his family and Brooklyn will continue to inspire those who knew him.
