Mrs. Mary Christina Anfinson

Roswell, GA resident Mary Christina Lovinggood Anfinson, known as “Christy” throughout her life, died suddenly in her home on Wednesday, September 18, 2019. Christy was born July 18, 1971, in Atlanta, GA to Charles and June Lovinggood. She had an uncommon and heavenly gift as a singer; her gifts were recognized at an early age. She studied voice performance on scholarship at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS, performing with their award-winning choir and exceling in solo and ensemble work. She went on to sing in the Emory Chancel Choir, and Yes, Virginia women’s a capella group in Atlanta, and with other performing artists in the Atlanta area. She sang everything from classical, to pop and jazz standards. She was most fond of singing the songs of Cole Porter, and of course, ‘80’s music. Her music came from a divine place, and she touched many hearts with her art. Christy loved cooking Southern food, and the world will be a much blander place without her pound cakes, sweet potato souffles, pineapple upside down cakes, and chicken pot pies. She was passionate about many things: music, art, photography, literature, social justice, Disney, oral hygiene, and her insistence that there is only ONE proper brand of mayonnaise. Most of all, she deeply loved her children, Jessica, Michael, William, and Joseph. Those who knew Christy knew of her many struggles, and while we are deeply saddened by our loss, we are as deeply grateful that she is finally at peace. She is survived by her husband, Theodore Anfinson, her children, Jessica Baer, Michael Baer V, William Baer, and Joseph Anfinson; as well as her mother, June Lovinggood; father, Charles Lovinggood; uncle Bill Lovinggood; aunts Jackie Vaughan, Joanne Stegall, and Debra Lundsford; sisters Lisa Lovinggood Kettenacker, and her husband Herb Kettenacker, and Sherry Lovinggood King, and her husband Fred King; cousins Susan Lovinggood Harlow, Michael Vaughan Evans, Jada Dean, Douglas Stegall, Jodi Williams, Matt Womach, and Steven Womach; a nephew Daniel Hart, his wife Hannah Shaw Hart and their two children, Mary and Charlotte; a niece Hannah Lee Horvath, her husband Matthew Horvath, and their son, Elijah. A memorial/wake will be held in her home at 120 Arbor Creek Way, Roswell, GA, on September 28, 2019 from 2:00-6:00 PM.
