Robert Duncan Gotsch

Robert Duncan Gotsch passed away peacefully at his home in Roswell, Georgia on Monday, November 7, 2022. Robert was born on October 16, 1936 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Gustave and Ruth Gotsch. Robert died at the age of 86. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Management in 1959. Robert spent ten years working at Lockheed. He also spent ten years working as a Distribution Manager at Lithonia Lighting. He was a contractor for Deloitte before opening Logistics Management Services where he served as a consultant for many large firms. Robert retired from the Army Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel after serving for 30 years. His passion revolved around community service organizations. He was an active member of the Roswell Jaycees and served in many roles throughout his years of service. He was also a member of the Reserve Officers Association (ROA), serving as the Atlanta Chapter president and the president of the Department of Georgia. In later years, Robert served as an advisor for his Delta Tau Delta Fraternity at both the Georgia Tech and Emory Chapters. He received the Greek Life Achievement Award from Emory University in 2007 for his service and leadership. Robert served as the President of the Gamma Psi House Corporation on the Georgia Tech campus from 2007-2017. Robert was also a member of the Old Guard of the Gate City Guard as well as a member of the National Memorial Day Association. He served as Treasurer for both of these organizations. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Patricia Kentzel Gotsch, his three children and six grandchildren, Vicki Garner (Mike) and their two children, Rachel and Nick, Jason Gotsch (Christy) and their two children, Meredith and Grant, and Geoffrey Gotsch (Shea) and their two children Mason and Connor. He is also survived by his brother Doug Gotsch and his wife Betty and their two children Kelley and Greg. Robert also leaves behind two stepchildren, Mary Beth Kelley and Melanie Wright (Jim) and eight step grandchildren, Carson Kelley, Rachel Kelley, Katherine Hoerauf, Michael Hoerauf, James Wright, Erin Wright, Patrick Wright, and John Wright.
