Mr. Ronald Campbell

Ronald Stephen Campbell was born on May 14th, 1954, in Trion, Georgia. The final chapter of his life ended on February 23rd surrounded by his loved ones. He was one of three children from the late Cecil and Jimmi Campbell. In 1972, Ron graduated from Hart County High School in Hartwell, GA. While in high school Ron excelled at football and academics. He attended West Georgia College from 1972 – 1974, where he was a member of The Farm Fraternity. Ron joined the U.S. Army in 1974 -1977 and was stationed in Bamberg, Germany, achieving a level of Sergeant ranking. He continued his education and received his Bachelor’s degree with honors in Science and Industrial Management at Georgia Technical Institute in Atlanta, Georgia finishing at the top of his class. Ron was a very successful Sales Director achieving numerous of accolades with Honeywell, Invinsys, Barbara Coleman & Associates, Delta Controls and Greentrol. Ron was a man with a love of many interests including freshwater and deep-sea fishing, hunting, photography and antiquing. He was a voracious reader, a world history buff and loved to travel the U.S. and the world. He had an amazing group of collections from antique guns that he placed on exhibit at gun shows to arrowheads, many books and mid-century art. His recent hobby of working with raw edge wood was a joy. He was known as a loyal friend to many from high school football team members, college, the U.S. Army, church and his work relations. His friendships truly became his extended family. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge on any topic and could do it brilliantly. Ron loved his family and he was admired by all especially two younger sisters and son who loved him dearly and with the utmost respect. He was a wonderful big brother and father! Our hearts are saddened now but we look forward to a grand reunion one day in heaven. As Ron would always end his phone calls...”Adios, take care!” Survived by Son Zachary Campbell, Sisters Gina Stephens (George), Didi Humphries, significant other Rita McKeown, Step-Mother Nellie Campbell, future daughter in law Shannon Smoot, Nieces and Nephews Allison Owens (Stacey), Emily Schneider (Damon), Jason Stephens (Jessica) and Christina Donellan (Steven) and eleven great nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held at Roswell United Methodist Church on Wednesday, February 27th at 2 PM. 814 Mimosa Blvd, Roswell, GA 30075. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 26th between 7 – 9 PM at Northside Chapel at 12050 Crabapple Rd, Roswell, GA 30075 and at 1 PM prior to the Memorial Service on Wednesday.
