Mrs. Shirley Moore Padgett

PADGETT – Shirley Moore Padgett age 80 of Roswell passed away January 6, 2015. She was born on July 19, 1935 in Temple, GA to George and Lois Moore. She had been a resident of Roswell since 1964. She was a faithful member of Roswell First Baptist Church since 1965 and was a member of the Faithful Friends Sunday School Class. She was Past Queen of the Daughters of the Nile El Tehran Temple #122, Past 1st Lady of Yarab Shrine Temple and Past Worthy Matron of O.E.S. She loved her church, friends and family, and was fiercely loyal to them, She was a kind and giving Christian Southern Lady, who always had something positive to say about everyone. She was the first to welcome new neighbors-with food (it’s a Southern Thing). She enjoyed spending time with her family on retreats, trips, vacations, dinners, lunch’s, Holidays, church and outings. She was always concerned about others, never herself. She was a great cook, and loved cooking for everyone, you never turned her meals down, or the seconds, or thirds. She was a Proverbs 31 Lady and a faithful solider in His service. She will be missed by All that knew and loved her. We have been blessed to have been raised by a Christian Mother and Father, parents who cared enough to correct us, love us, brag on us, cry with us, but most of all, to teach us about the Bible and Jesus and The Gift of everlasting Life that is ours to receive for the asking. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Moore. She is survived by her children, Roy and Kathy Padgett of Woodstock, Stephen and Dedie Padgett of Marietta, Carole Ann Padgett of Roswell and Stan and Valerie Padgett of Cumming; sister, Linda Williams of Temple; grandchildren, Amanda Padgett, Dawson and Brekken Padgett, Mitchell Padgett, Brandon Padgett, Christopher Padgett, Anna Padgett and Samuel Padgett; great-grandchildren, Josiah and Branson; nephew, Randy Moore and several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 2:00pm at Roswell First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Roswell First Baptist Church music ministry or Temple Baptist Church music ministry.
